Delta is committed to being an environmentally sustainable company. Much of our work is performed in developing countries which may involve sending consultants on long haul flights adding CO2 to the atmosphere. In an attempt to counteract the negative impact on global warming, Delta’s policy is to make contributions to Climate Care towards their work on carbon offsetting projects. Clients are asked to pay these contributions on a voluntary basis.
Climate Care offsets CO2 by funding projects around the world. These involve:
- Renewable energy – this replaces non-renewable fuel such as coal
- Energy efficiency – this reduces the amount of fuel needed
- Forest restoration – this absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere as the trees grow
In a first-of-its-kind report evaluating retail carbon offset providers, Climate Care has been given the highest overall rating, with top rankings in key categories concerning offset quality, and transparency of operations. For more information about Climate Care see their website.
